Beginnings

Welcome friends! I have started this entry in the global technosphere because I have been in love with books since the age of 2. Among the busy business of being a new teacher, this is my outlet for sharing thoughts on a love of reading a wide variety of books. My inspiration can be summed up with a yearbook quote from a teacher written when I was 8: "To the only girl at recess I see reading a book. Good for you!"
My blog title is quoted from a classmate who asked me this once. Believe it or not, I've also heard it as a teacher :D

  1. I loved Bill Clinton's My Life I hope you're enjoying it. I waited in line for 7 1/2 hours at his book signing. Got to shake his and and said he liked my John Lennon shirt!
Have a great week of reading!

  2. Will this be your first reading of To Kill a Mockingbird or a re-read? I read it for the first time a few years ago and immediately fell in love. Hope you enjoy it!

  3. I'd love to read To Kill a Mockingbird again. I read it a few years ago but it is one of those books that invites repeated reading.

  4. Good stuff. I waited far too long in life to read To Kill a Mockingbird, but better late than never. I've also never read Bryson! :)

  5. Whitney~ That's quite an experience! I am enjoying it but I've only been nibbling at it for almost a year. It's quite a story.

Sue~ I read TKAM in high school and really liked it, but I'm curious to see how my thoughts change about it when I read it this time around.

Shirley~ For sure! I can't wait to get to it.

Andi~ I think any time that's taken for a timeless classic is worth it. I hadn't read Bryson before either. It's an unusual kind of book. Hard to say what I think about it yet. I'm still getting used to it.
