I've decided I'm going to tone down on meme participation a smidge until further notice. I need to make room for...oh, I don't know... reading?!? Ha ha :D This doesn't mean that I'm going cold turkey on memes, but as you may have noticed in the last month or so, I have skipped them a little bit & you know what? I actually got through more books! Consider this an experiment in striking a balance between reading, reviewing, commenting & blog socializing.
I still intend to participate in these 3 memes every week (unless extraordinary circumstances stop me):
I am going to take a breather from posting on the following 3 memes every week and only post when the topic gives me a good idea for a response or the mood is right. I'd like to thank everyone who hosts these memes and know that I still love doing them & will be back from time to time:
There are some great memes out there.
ReplyDeleteI dont tend to join in any particular one every week but tour around them at least once a month.

I gave up on memes almost entirely all together last year. The only meme I sometimes participate in is the literary blog hop - and only if the question is about something that I particularly feel I want to comment on.
ReplyDeleteMemes are particularly great when you are starting out blogging and want to get to know people and build up some traffic to your blog - but otherwise I am with you. There are other things to prioritise.
Book blogs, or at least my book blog, was started to review books and that was getting lost amoungst all the memes.
Plus, i think meme's (or excessive memes) take away from the individuality of a persons blog. I want my blog to be a little bit unique - and it can't be unique if I am participating in a meme every other day.
I don't think so anyway.
Anyhoo - that's my two cents worth. I hope you get what you want out of less participation in memes
